(cost $685):

30 hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours of private, behind-the-wheel instruction

Criteria for Participation:

All students are required to obtain a Temporary Instructional Permit (TIP) from the DMV before starting class. Schedule an appointment at the DMV via www.expresslane.org to get your student’s TIP card. For more information about a TIP, please watch this video.

Participants can take the classroom portion up to 90 days before they turn 15. Students must be enrolled in at least the 8th grade and be at least 15 years old to begin behind-the-wheel instruction. Your deposit guarantees your student's place in the specific session, not just a general slot at Mom's.

Before starting the classroom and driving segments, a parent or guardian must attend the mandatory parent meeting. The dates and times can be found on the registration page.

The curriculum includes lectures on various topics, such as:

  • Traffic laws and regulations

  • Road signs, traffic lights, and markings

  • Safe driving techniques

  • Handling emergencies and driving hazards (weather conditions, alcohol, and drug use)

  • Motorcycle safety and interstate driving

  • Driving offenses

The state online test will be conducted on the final day of class, requiring a minimum passing score of 80%.

Behind-the-wheel lessons are private; no other teenagers will be in the vehicle during your student’s lessons. Students will learn in vehicles equipped with dash cameras and dual brakes. Each student will schedule four, two-hour lessons on different days, starting and concluding at Mom's.

The class fee includes all classroom and learning materials, with no additional costs required for participation.

Teen students have 120 days to complete the course.
